Made From The Porsche 911

The REC 901 watch collection is comprised of three automatic timepieces that are made from and inspired by more than half a century of the legendary Porsche 911. Powered by self-winding, mechanical movement, each REC 901 collection watch is visibly unique. The 'engine' is powered by a top-tier automatic movement, the Miyota calibre 9100, as each design references the car from which it was partly made. 

The Story

The REC 901 watch collection has more than 50 years of history captivated in one watch. Each dial is made from vintage Porsche 911 parts, paying tribute to the iconic air-cooled Porsche model. The collection hints subtle references to the original 911 as a way of paying homage to one of the most iconic sports cars ever created. All REC 901 watches comes with a scanable Story Card. This card is QR compatible meaning when the code is scanned, it takes your directly to the video documenting the origin of the specific car which became part of your watch.

The Name

The REC 901 watch collection is named after the original intended name for the legendary Porsche 911. In 1964, Porsche presented their new invention the Porsche 901, however another car maker had already claimed ownership of any three digit number with a '0' in the middle. Porsche therefore simply replaced the '0' with a '1,' and the rest was history.
